2007

The CYC received a very beautiful bouquet of flowers in the past wee and we wish to thank the person(s) who very kindly sends these flowers each year and would very much like to thank you personally.

We are always delighted to get new members, so if you or a family member are interested in joining the choir please feel free to get in touch, or come along before any of the vigil masses.

2006

As of the 18th November, the Cathedral Youth Choir will be returning to the newly renovated Cathedral. The Cathedral has been undergoing a series of structural and interior maintenance, and will re-open on the 18th of November, with the vigil Mass being at 6:15 with the CYC.

The Cathedral Youth Choir would like to thank Pro Musica, Georges St., Waterford for their assistance and expertise when recently purchasing new musical equipment for the choir. Our new Korg Digital piano was available in time for the Christmas Masses and it really added to the music on the evening.

The CYC has been re-designed to coordinate with our new image. The site redesign was long overdue as the previous site contained some information which was out of date.

2005

The CYC performed as a part of the Lions Club Christmas Concert on 4pm in the Cathedral - on Saturday 10th December 2005.
This event was very successful, a very special Christmas concert with over 100 voices plus a full orchestra.

2004

Just an update on some news regarding The Cathedral Youth Choir and the CYC Website.

Musicians and Singers Welcome: The Cathedral Youth Choir are always seeking new members - especially Musicians. If you are interested in joining the choir, please click the Joining link above, or come talk to us after Saturday evening Mass.

Back from Summer Break : The Cathedral Youth Choir have returned from their summer break. The CYC would like to thank everyone for their good wishes and this next year will see the Youth Choir celebrate 21 years in the Cathedral. If you would like to keep in join the choir, please use the contact section of this website.

New Members : The CYC would like to welcome some new members, Conor Dempsey, Alan Marsh, Breeda McDonald, Katie Molloy and Lorcan Reidy who joined in the past few weeks.

Concert Performance : Many thanks to all who attended the choral presentation in Christchurch Cathedral, Sunday 4th April.

Adamstown Visit : The CYC would like to thank everyone in the parish of Adamstown, Co. Wexford, where we were very warmly welcomed, having played at the Saturday night 7:30 vigil Mass.

The Cathedral Youth Choir celebrated 20 years on Saturday the 31st of January 2004. The special Anniversary mass was celebrated by Bishop William Lee, and co-celebrated by Fr. O'Riordan, Fr. Chestnut, Fr. Ryan and Fr. Condon - all of which have had an influential relationship with the choir at some point during their 20 years.

We would also like to thank the many past-members who took time to attend, as well as the many friends of the choir who came to see us after the mass. We have placed some pictures of the celebrations in the picture gallery below - click on each image to make it bigger.

We would also like to thank the media who gave special announcements or ran features of the Choirs 20 year Anniversary.

2000

The April 7th Edition of the Waterford News & Star included a short article, entitled 'On The Internet' which documented the launch of our newly re-developed website. The article was in the popular 'City Scene' section of the paper and is included below for those who missed it. Also, many thanks to the editor for the inclusion of the web/e-mail addresses.
